Various Types of Poker Tournaments

Poker tournaments provide you with the perfect stage for you to show off your poker skills and to win some big cash. With so many poker tournaments available, here’s a quick guide to each and every type of tournament offered by BoaBet:

Freezeout tournament

One of the most popular type of poker tournaments, a Freezeout tournament is when you pay your buy-in and get your chips and play until you run out. You cannot rebuy into the tournament and once you run out of chips, it’s over.

Multi-buy tournament

If you love a challenge and want to register yourself for the same tournament with multiple stacks, then this is the tournament for you. Register multiple stacks at the start of the tournament to give yourself more chips to play with and increase the playability of the game right from the start.

Rebuy

Different from a freezeout tournament, this format allows you to buy more chips for a limited period of time in the begin stage of the tournament. When you run out of chips during the rebuy period, you can buy more chips. At the end of the rebuy period you can usually buy extra chips for a final time. The tournament will continue as a freezeout after the rebuy period ended.

Freeroll tournament

Costing nothing to enter, Freeroll tournaments of all types (Pot Limit Omaha, Hold’em) are available on an hourly basis. You could gain a particular achievement, tickets or cash prizes on a daily basis.

Guaranteed Tournament (GTD)

Having a minimum fixed prize pool amount, no matter how many runners there are, a poker guaranteed tournament is a great way to boost your bankroll for a minimum investment as you climb your way to the top.

Bounty Tournaments

Also known as knockout tournaments are all the rage amongst poker players. The only difference compared to other tournaments is that in these games, you get a cash prize for each player you knock out – ranging between 20 to 50% of their buy-in.
